About Us

Who are we?

Scott started his first store with Hydroponics in 1991, back before anyone knew what the word was. If you need advice on Hydroponics visit our site at http://www.hydrocentre.com.au Since then he has served thousands of customers and learned about customers experiences with thousands of products. Along the way his businesses have been known for friendly assistance, great advice, and a fair price. For over 20 years, he has maintained a mail order catalogue business.

Express Mail Orders is an extension of the business. We still provide plain packaging, and can send a box or a truck load as needed.

How are goods packaged?

We use plain packaging whenever possible. All goods come addressed from S.Andrew 1/27 Lawrence Drive Nerang QLD 4211. Occasionally we have a issue where boxes may have some markings, however all references to products that come from Hydroponics will be covered up completely.

How is Weight calculated?

Australia Post chargeable weight is calculated by actual weight OR by cubic weight including packaging if it is greater. So if you buy feathers, the weight will be based on the space that Australia Post calculates. At present we assume 300kg per square meter which means a big 50 litre box is charged at a minimum of 15kg whether it’s full or empty… many things will be based on actual weight though.

How do you send Bulky items?

We send large items by Couriers please or Fastways Couriers, and pallet loads by Followmont Transport, S and R Transport, and others depending on who is most appropriate, secure, and cost effective.


Shopping online is always a privacy issue. So we have some simple steps to protect you.

  1. Everything is sent in plain packages, black wrapped or obscured in some way. We have been doing this for 20 years and we know what people expect. We can also send care of the post office or to a friends address...
  2. Entering details online could be a privacy issue. Our site is designed to be secure. We suggest that after goods are received, you should log onto "MY ACCOUNT" at the top of the page, and change your name address email password or anything else you want to change and we will have no further record of these details after about 30 days. This is entirely up to you. You are probably reading this because you are concerned about privacy and SPAM.
  3. You can select Payment by Phone through Credit Card.  This should allow you to keep personal details private. Other payment options are Paypal or Direct deposit (NAB) where you can also deposit cash into the account.

  2. Direct deposit - transfer from your account to us or take CASH to your local NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK branch (NAB)
  3. Phone through Credit is the final Option - and if you have any other ideas, select this and contact us.

Mistakes happen!

We try our best all the time. However, we will at some time make a mistake. If I told you different you would call me a liar. So if for some reason we make a mistake, please contact us and we will fix it with the minimum of fuss. If we keep you happy, we hope for repeat sales and customer referrals. If you go directly to Facebook with our errors we haven’t had a chance to fix the problem have we?
